CHURCH FARM
Church Farm historically was a farmstead of highly characteristic group of buildings consisting of a large stone-built thatched barn, brick stable and timber-framed shed bounded on its northern side by a cob wall and a stone-built dovecote which indicates the higher status origins of this farmstead.
We were appointed by our clients to create a scheme that would reflect the established character of Dorset chalk downland and to ensure the scale and detail of the new residential units on the site were designed and carefully detailed to complement the status and importance of the listed buildings as well as maintain the sensitive setting of listed buildings within and beyond the site, and provide the sense of a group of converted farm buildings whilst providing some high quality architectural detailing with a contemporary feel.
